It is complex.
Which is exactly how I prefer it.
Vigilant.
There is no other singular word that defines what I am.
Vigilance has been both the sword and the shield throughout my life. There is no turning it off. Eventually, it needed a home - a place where the vision it produces could be converted into value.
VT Infinite is that home.
Vigilance is a mechanism. A detection system. A high-dimensional state in which the variables are always moving and the consequences are rarely distributed evenly.
Vigilance produces. It produces performance. It produces protection.
There are many reasons it exists within me. They matter, and I will write about them. But they are not the point here.
The point is what that vigilance is being optimized toward.
Vigilance does not make failure impossible. It makes indifference to failure impossible. When the outcome matters, I cannot stop at the first answer. I test it. I look at it from another angle. I ask what is missing, who benefits, who carries the risk, and what happens if the assumptions are wrong.
That is how I solve problems - especially the consequential ones.
For many years, I solved those problems through natural language. Most people believe the success attributed to those years came from the words I spoke. That is only partly true.
The fuller truth is that it came from the questions I asked.
The questions I asked of people. The questions I asked of prospects. The questions I asked of systems. Most importantly, the questions I asked of myself.
Language was the interface. Vigilance was the code.
Frontier laboratories use code to assimilate language. I assimilate language to enforce code - and not only in the terminal.
I learned to identify the loss function operating beneath the words: what the system was actually optimizing, who defined success, which outcomes were being measured, and which consequences were being ignored.
Every system optimizes toward something. Revenue. Growth. Efficiency. Adoption. Survival. Human welfare. Sometimes those objectives align. Sometimes they compete. Often, the most consequential trade-offs remain hidden beneath language designed to make the system appear simpler than it is.
I do not trust simplicity that has not survived interrogation.
Five procedures on my heart by the age of forty reinforced that instinct. Living with ventricular tachycardia changed me. It imposed clarity in ways I cannot reverse - and would not choose to.
VT began there.
Ventricular tachycardia.
But the meaning evolved.
Vigilant Tangents.
The ability to pursue a consequential question across disciplines, incentives, data, and uncertainty - following every tangent until the actual shape of the problem becomes visible.
Infinite is the commitment to continue.
That is what the mark represents. The circle is the infinite. Inside it is the V - the vigilance. The tangents rise above it to form a roof.
Because that is what I am building.
Roofs to protect what I love from the rain.
VT Infinite was founded because emerging artificial intelligence presented both extraordinary opportunity and substantial risk. I did not want to build another technology company for the sake of saying I had built one. I wanted to build a place where vigilance could become infrastructure.
A place for difficult questions.
A place where powerful tools could be used without surrendering human judgment.
A place where systems could be measured against the outcomes of the people they exist to serve.
Because when those outcomes matter, transparency is not a feature.
It is a mandate.
That mandate led to the first question.
The question led to an analysis.
The analysis survived correction, disagreement, adversarial review, and reconstruction. It produced something valuable: a record of how consequential questions should be pursued when the evidence is incomplete, the incentives are tangled, and real people will live with the result.
That process became the origin of Phial.
